GST & invoices

How BazaarSaaS works out GST on every order and makes the invoice.

What you set

  • Your state — chosen at sign-up (change it in Settings → General). It decides which tax applies.
  • HSN code and GST rate on every product: 0%, 5%, 12%, 18%, 28% or 40% — and the precious-goods rates 3% (gold, silver and jewellery), 1.5% (cut and polished diamonds) and 0.25% (rough diamonds and precious stones).
  • Prices include GST. The price you enter is what the buyer pays for the item; BazaarSaaS works the tax out of it.

What happens on an order

For each line the taxable value and the GST are calculated from the price and rate. Then:

Buyer's delivery state Tax on the invoice
Same as your state CGST + SGST, half each
Any other state IGST, the full rate

Delivery and COD charges are shown in the totals. Coupons reduce the taxable value before tax is worked out.

Invoices

Every order has a GST invoice (PDF) — open it from the order page in your admin. The buyer can download it from their order page too. It shows your business details, the buyer's address, each item with HSN, quantity, taxable value, the CGST/SGST or IGST breakup and the total.

Refunds create a credit note with its own number, so your books stay correct.

Keep HSN codes and rates right — they come from your products, so a wrong rate there means a wrong invoice.

Monthly GST report (GSTR-1)

GST report (in the side menu) shows a month's sales the way GSTR-1 asks for them — pick the month at the top (it opens on last month):

  • B2C small — sales by place of supply (state) and GST rate, with their credit notes taken off. Sales within your state carry CGST + SGST, sales to other states IGST.
  • B2C large — each invoice to another state over ₹1 lakh.
  • HSN summary — by HSN code and rate: quantity, taxable value and tax. Lines whose product has no HSN code show as "Not set", and the page warns you.
  • Credit notes — every refund's credit note and the invoice it reverses.
  • Documents issued — your first and last invoice and credit-note numbers.

Every figure comes from the invoices and credit notes your buyers got (invoice = a confirmed order), so the HSN summary's totals equal the month's invoices minus its credit notes to the paisa. Each table has a CSV in the GST offline tool's columns, for you or your CA. Delivery and COD fees are part of the invoice value but not taxed, so they are not in the taxable value. Buyers can't give a GSTIN at checkout yet, so there are no B2B invoices. Check the figures with your CA before you file.
